Loom control garments are woven on a loom. Sometimes they consist of a variety of rectangular pieces that are then sewn together. They can also be "shaped" on the loom--the neck and head opening can be woven into a single piece of fabric. This single piece is then folded in half and the sides are stitched together. This technique generally produces a "T" shaped garment that is easy to weave, sew and wear. The "T" shaped garment can be elongated to become a tunic or dress. Embellishment can be incorporated by the weave structure, color and texture.
Loom control garments can also be woven as a tubular double weave. It is a fun and satisfying project.
